The Great Debate: Atheists vs. Christians

And so it continues. American Atheists put up this billboard outside of New York’s Lincoln Tunnel to tell people that Christmas is not real and that Atheists should “come out of the closet.”  I have no opinion on the matter because Christmas, to me, has always been about family, friends, happiness, and Santa Claus.  It has never been about religion.  So whether it’s a myth or not, I really don’t care.  And quite frankly, I don’t think many people do.  The ironic thing about Christmas is that it has taken on a new identity.  Christmas is no longer just a Christian holiday.  A holiday created to commemorate the birth of Jesus has now become a holiday commemorating family and friends.  A completely joyous day where selflessness and togetherness are at level highs.  And ain’t that a thang.
